RELATED: The Scariest Nurses In Gaming

Pure nightmare fuel, the Dredge is Dead by Daylight’s take on the boogieman, a twisted monstrosity patched together from the darkness within the human mind. With the ability to teleport across the map and shutdown loops with its Remnant, the Dredge is a potent threat. With close to 200 perks in the game, there’s a lot to choose from when it comes to builds. Here are some fun and interesting choices for the Dredge.

The All-Seeing

A pure information build, the All-Seeing offers neither slowdown nor lethality. Instead, it gives the Dredge as much information as possible so that the Killer always knows where to hunt next. Discordance alerts the Killer whenever multiple Survivors are repairing the same generator. Barbecue and Chilli reveals the auras of distant Survivors whenever the Killer hooks someone.

Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage reveals the auras of survivors whenever someone is unhooked from a Scourge Hook. Bitter Murmur reveals the location of Survivors whenever a generator is completed. With so much information, the Dredge will always know where to teleport next.

The Eater Of The Weak

This build focuses on keeping people injured and preying upon them when they’re healing. A Nurse’s Calling reveals the auras of Survivors healing nearby. Septic Touch afflicts healing Survivors with Blindness and Exhaustion. Sloppy Butcher makes it more difficult to heal, keeping them injured longer. Distressing increases the Dredge’s terror radius, making the first two perks affect a wider area.

With this build, the Dredge can see injured Survivors and nullify their exhaustion perks, so they have no escape. Since the Nightfall meter advances more quickly when Survivors are injured, this build synergizes well with the Dredge’s power.

The Monstrous Silence

This build makes the Dredge Undetectable as often as possible, allowing it to attack Survivors by Surprise. Tinkerer alerts the Dredge when a generator is approaching completion and grants Undetectable. Dark Devotion makes the Dredge Undetectable and transfers its terror radius to the Obsession whenever it hits the Obsession.

Hex: Plaything makes the Dredge Undetectable to a specific Survivor the first time that Survivor is hooked. Hysteria makes the Dredge Undetectable to all injured Survivors whenever a healthy Survivor becomes injured. If played right, Survivors won’t hear the monster coming until it’s too late.

The Thing Underground

The Thing Underground is a classic basement build, devoted to getting a Survivor in the basement and keeping them there. Agitation makes the Dredge faster while carrying a Survivor, and Iron Grasp makes it harder for Survivors to wiggle free, ensuring the Dredge can carry its prize underground.

Territorial Imperative warns the Dredge whenever a Survivor enters the basement, and Monstrous Shrine ensures that any Survivor hooked within dies as soon as possible. The only downside is that the Dredge can’t teleport to any locker too close to where the Survivor is hooked. Niche and satisfying, The Thing Underground doesn’t always work, but when it does, it’s magic.

The Sorcerer

A build that gambles it all on high-risk, high reward Hexes. Hex: Devour Hope increases the Dredge’s lethality by leaving Survivors Exposed and then subject to moris. Hex: Undying protects the other Hexes by acting as a second life for them.

Hex: Thrill of the Hunt slows down the cleansing and blessing process, and Hex: Retribution makes Survivors Oblivious when they are cleansing or blessing a totem and reveals the aura of Survivors whenever a Hex totem is cleansed. The Dredge’s ability to teleport across the map in an instant to defend its totems can make this build unstoppable in the right circumstances.

The Jailer

An end-game build that traps Survivors inside the Trial as long as possible. No Way Out locks the exit gate switches when they are first touched, preventing Survivors from using them. Remember Me slows the opening process once Survivors are finally able to touch the switches.

Blood Warden seals the exits if the Dredge hooks a Survivor once the gates have opened, and Hex: No One Escapes Death allows the Dredge to one-shot down any Survivor it finds while they are trapped. The Jailer gives hopeful Survivors a rude awakening at the end of the Trial.

The SWF Killer

The SWF Killer provides counterplay to “Survive With Friends” groups playing together. Starstruck makes any Survivors within the Killer’s terror radius exposed when the villain picks up another Survivor.

Lightborn renders the Killer immune to flashlights. Agitation increases the Killer’s movement speed when carrying a Survivor, and Mad Grit eliminates attack cooldown when they are carrying a Survivor and pauses the wiggle timer whenever the Killer strikes someone. The SWF Killer prevents flashlight harassment and savagely punishes anyone who attempts to bodyblock.

The Meta

There’s nothing original about the Meta build: it simply consists of some of the strongest slowdown perks in the game, assembled for one purpose and one purpose only: keep Survivors from finishing gens.

Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance damages the most advanced generator when a Survivor is hooked, and Dead Man’s Switch blocks any generator that a Survivor stops working on while the perk is active. Corrupt Intervention blocks the three generators farthest from the Killer at the start of the Trial, and Pop Goes the Weasel instantly regresses the first generator that the Killer kicks after hooking someone by 25%.
