RELATED: Genshin Impact: Best Nahida Build Guide

Due to her support role, Yaoyao is relatively easy to build, as players should primarily focus on her HP% for optimal healing along with some other helpful stats such as Elemental Mastery and Energy Recharge. This not only allows her to be used as a healer, but also provides a boost to Dendro elemental reactions. Fortunately, Genshin Impact has plenty of suitable weapon and artifact set options that can help Yaoyao to be utilized effectively in many team compositions.

Yaoyao Best Build In Genshin Impact

Yaoyao Builds - Best Weapon

Thanks to her supportive role, Yaoyao is quite straightforward to build, similar to many other Genshin Impact healers and support characters such as Bennett or Kuki Shinobu, and doesn’t require any specific weapon or even a 5-star weapon. However, as she mainly scales with HP, it can be tricky to select the right polearm to use. The only weapon offering HP as a secondary stat is the 3-star Black Tassel. Fortunately, there are still a decent number of non-gacha or easily obtainable 4-star weapons Yaoyao can utilize, which have Elemental Mastery or Energy Recharge secondary stats. These weapons are excellent choices to help Yaoyao reach her full potential.

Although the best weapon for Yaoyao ultimately depends on how players wish to utilize her, Moonpiercer is an excellent choice for Dendro support characters, as it increases their Elemental Mastery and also can provide a character with ATK buff through its passive. This weapon can allow Yaoyao to be more effectively used as a Dendro-reaction enabler alongside her healing abilities. Fortunately, it is a free-to-play option that needs to be forged, so it is relatively easy to get it to refinement level 5, once the recipe is obtained. However, exploring Sumeru can be challenging for new players. Fortunately, there are other viable options, such as Favonius Lance, for those who have not yet progressed far enough in the story.

Yaoyao Builds - Best Artifacts

The best artifact for Yaoyao in Genshin Impact depends on how players want to utilize her. For players who want to fully maximize the HP%, Tenacity of the Millelith is an excellent choice at its 2-set bonus, but also at a 4-set bonus since it can further buff the ATK of the party members. This also makes it a perfect artifact set to be used with Moonpiercer, as they synergize.

Nevertheless, since many of the latest characters who can utilize Yaoyao on the team don’t particularly scale with ATK, this may not be as useful in a team, and players should decide whether the 4-piece set bonus is worth it for the team composition they are considering. Teams who have two Dendro characters in the team can also benefit from 4-piece Deepwood Memories. It’s also possible to go for Healer sets such as Ocean-Hued Clam or simply mix match 2-piece effects of various universal artifact sets based on the team’s needs:

2pc Healing Bonus +15% + 2pc HP increased by 20% 2pc Healing Bonus +15% + 2pc Healing Bonus +15% 2pc EM +80 + 2pc Healing Bonus +15%

As Yaoyao scales well with HP%, it is recommended that artifact main stats should generally reflect this on each piece. Players can also opt for Healing Effectiveness over HP% for the Circlet if they prefer to do so. When it comes to her sub-stats, this shouldn’t be too difficult as she is a supporting character and doesn’t need to focus on stat ratios as much as the main DPS characters.

In general, HP% should be prioritized above all other artifact sub-stats, followed by Energy Recharge and Elemental Mastery. Crit Rate/DMG should also be taken into consideration, as this can allow Yaoyao to be a sub-dps to some extent. Crit Rate is particularly important for players who will use Favonius Lance on Yaoyao, as its passive skill requires Crit for it to be activated. Flat HP stat may be also desirable, however, it is important to remember that having too much HP without the other stats mentioned will not be as beneficial. Depending on the team composition and the type of weapon being used, the priority order of these stats may differ between Energy Recharge and Elemental Mastery.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
